Problems with recovering acer software/drivers

Hi guys,

I run into some problems with my Acer Aspire 5600/3860 series. I reinstalled windows XP on my laptop, and then all kinds of software that was supposed to be found on my comp automatically, was missing. I tried to go on Acer website and download drivers but they were not recognised. I have ATI video card, Radeon X1300, i downloaded new drivers from the website, they were not installed either. Reason - not compatible with my software or whatever. Laptop was asking among many things for Video controller (VGA Compatible), i downloaded it, it couldn't be installed....I'm going quite mad....Called with Acer and of cource....i'm not within my garancy anymore...
Did any of you guys have any experience with that and can you maybe give me an advice....PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
