Simply put, Services.exe crashes at (approx.) 1 hour intervals. I get a warning that the computer will shut down in 60 seconds. Then the computer reboots. At least I get some time to work

Several possiblities seem likely to me as to the cause -
    I installed new bios
I had my computer removed from a domain - I don't think this was real clean.
I replaced my video and sound card drivers

I have reverted to my original drivers
Looking at the application event logs, I see two suspicious application errors. (notice that esent.dll seems to be the problem.)

    From the info you provided....

This is a computer that is on a DOMAIN.

This computer starts up as normal. But within 1 hour, it will crash? (sounds like a bad service)

Quick question, since you mentioned domains, which opens up a huge topic, on whether your network (entirely) is secure (and malware free).

What happens when you turn off ALL startup items within msconfig.

I think it is a domain problem.. although I am not sure. There is a possiblity that my computer is compromised. Long story, but I was off the network for about six month. In that time a new (and not experienced admin) took over. So I walk in and plug my laptop in.... And what happens??? My computer is updated up the wazoo. I lose all my permissions, settings (carefully worked out so I can run the software I need to run), and accounts that I have been using. Ouch. Probably 30 to 40 hours of work. Not to mention all my restore points are gone, etc..... Well, I immediately got a friend of mine who has admin rights over a smaller group to remove me from the larger domain, and added as an admin in our group. Then I had to install some newer software and update a bunch of stuff, so I was never quite sure what the problem was, but I know that I don't want to have to redo all my work.
What happens when you turn off ALL startup items within msconfig.

In any case, I wil try these other methods, but I can never tell when my computer is going to crash. Sometimes it lasts for hours, sometimes for minutes. Argghhhh. So I might have to wait for a while to know if any of these solutions work.

Thanks for the help, I will let you know if your solutions work.
