Problems with Spybot

    I use Spybot with other spyware. Whenever I update I always get a message that there are no new updates; and it never finds a problem. The other spyware/adware programs I use usually find some problems. Which brings me to another question: If I have a choice to quarentine or delete, why would I not delete them? If there are corrupt, who wants them on their computer?

    Tell me your version of SpyBot and what is the date of your detections update.
    If not version 1.3 and detections update from 2004-09-16, you are out of date.

    The choice to quaratine vs delete is a safety net to avoid deleting something that may be declared to be a problem but that you may need. There are differences in opinion on many items especially cookies. If you only quarantine, you can always restore something that you find out you need later. After a reasonable length of time, you should be able to just delete items from the quarantine since you should know whether or not they were needed.

    Thanks for the response, chaslang. I have version 1.3 beta 4 and latest detection update is 2000-03-04. Sounds like it is out of date. Should I uninstalll it and download a new one or can this version be updated?

    Actually - I have updates from 2004-09-30 !

    Go to: http://majorgeeks.com/download2471.html
    For Spybot 1.3 FINAL and after install search for latest updates!

    Note that it says:
    Please uninstall previous versions before installing this one.
