    Hi all,

I've had this problem since i reinstalled OS for my laptop. It's running with Win Pro SP2 now. Here it is:

1- when it start, desktop would load and then the screen goes blank for a second, and then reload desktop.

2- I can't watch movie, or flash player video file... the screen would start blinking like crazy.

3- Every time the laptop is running on AC power and then switch to battery, the screen also blinks.

I already call Dell's, and they said it the graphic driver problem, I got the link to reinstall the driver, problem's stiil there.

Here are some information for that graphic accelerator:

Accelerator in Use: Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family
    Video BIOS: 1343
Current Graphics Mode: 1280 by 800 True Color (60 Hz).

Please help! Thank you all in advance! :(

Some of the 'problems' you listed are more or less normal. But the PC should be able to play video files without any problems. Download the newest chipset drivers from Dell and install them. Reboot the PC. Download the newest video driver from Dell. Remove the currently installed video driver (not the one you just downloaded) from both the device manager and from the Add/Remove Programs list if it's listed. Reboot the PC. Cancel the new hardware wizard if it tries to reload your video adapter. Run the new video driver you just downloaded and install it. Reboot the PC. If you still have problems, download and run a memory diagnostic from the Memory downloads here at MajorGeeks. Dell also has a full diagnostic program you can download for free that actually does a great job of testing all your hardware. Run these 2 diagnostics and make sure your RAM and hardware is healthy. If all is well here, please re-post your results, and we'll move on from there..... The 2 diagnostics will probably require you to create a bootable floppy/CD (for the memory test) and the Dell diagnostic will require you to create a bootable CD. All the instructions for each should be included with the download (or at the Dell site for their diagnostic).... good luck!

Thank you hd2k for such a quick reply. I'll try your guide. By the way, this laptop is quite new ( purchased last summer), so i'll get those chipset and driver and follow your instruction. I'll get back tomorrow and let every body know how thing is. Thanks again. :)

If the problem is a hardware issue, the PC may still be under warranty (under 1 year), and you can get it replaced for free! If that's the case, and if you have data on the hard drive, be sure to mention this to the manufatcurer; you may able to keep the current hard drive to re-install it in the new laptop, so it'll boot up just as it does now (with out the problems of course ;) )
