Ok, first and foremost, I have a Dell Dimension 2400, so it kinda sucks. I bought the Sims 2 and the (built in) video card sucked. I bought a PCI video card because I have no AGP slot on my motherboard  It is a Radeon 9200SE with 128Mb DDR. I got it from walmart.com. Anyways, it says in the directions to unhook the other video card which I cannot do, so I just said to heck with it. I put the video card in, booted up, and nothing came up with adding new hardware. It seems like it didn't detect it. So i went to control panel, and I installed it manually. It says that it was installed but it has an error saying that it could not start. I have tried multiple ways of doing this, but I just can't seem to figure it out. PLEASE HELP!

Go into bios, Disable onboard video.

Ok, I think I know how to get into the BIOS. You hit the F2 Button at startup right? This is something I forgot to mention. When I did this, it wasn't the same thing that I am used to seeing. It is all just one page (hard to explain) There are no tabs. When I went to Integrated, it had Video, but you could only choose either auto (which it is currently set at) and onboard. I wish the BIOS was the way that I am used to it being, otherwise I don't think that I would have a problem. :(

Have you plugged your monitor into your new graphics card?
Seems obvious but i have seen people do this before.

In that case asus is right you have to disable onboard video the computer would have shown a picture on your new card,if you set it to auto and plug your monitor into it it should work.

You got to the right place, set to auto is where ya want it!

Next thing to try is remove the PCI video card and try it in another slot.

There may be some other setting in bios that may effect ya video card here is bios guide ( be careful what you change if you dont know or not sure dont change. You can use the guide to learn about all your settings most will be covered):

If you do change anything in Bios, make sure you Save & Exit.

OK, I did do everything that everybody recommended and still nothing. When I plug the monitor into the new video card, the monitor still stays black with the power light flashing on and off. I even disabled the Intel Extreme Graphics thing in the Device Manager. Then I re-installed the card. Then I turned the computer on and went to BIOS and made sure that it was still switched to AUTO. When I booted.... NOTHING! I am contemplating giving up, but I have been waiting about a month for this card and I really want it to work. :(

I am not familiar with your mobo but on mine there is a setting called something like "first display device"
There might be an option to make the PCI card the first display device.

i'm pretty sure there is nothing like that on my bios. that is what you are talking about right?
