problems with winrar...

The last few days every file I try to extract has about 7-10 errors, so I check with sfv checker and replace the bad files. Ran the checker again no problems...so I extract again and now a few other files are now saying they are corrupt. WTF?? I uninstalled winrar and still does the same problem. Also I transfered folder to another hard drive and same problem. Anyone know how to fix this?

Open the event viewer by right-clicking my computer and selecting manage. (Or type eventvwr.msc in a run dialog)

In any of the logs, do you notice any errors or warnings (particularly from source disk)? If so, what are they? I would try running chkdsk /r

Can you link to the files so that others can test them?

 

no unusual errors found. I cannot send the files since it is some business files sent to me that are rar'ed up. Never had a problem like this before and have been using the same method for years.

 

the only think I can think of is I switched ram out last week and this is the first time I tried to unrar something since then. I have an extra stick around here somewhere I will test tonight.

 

I'd also try these files on another machine, if you could....let us know!
