Does anyone have any recommendations for good Process management software? Has anyone used "What's Running 2.2"? Its listed on downloads.com and has received good reviews. I'd like to have one that lists detail about the processes and what they are and if possible, provides a link.

I would have to 3rd that choice of Process Explorer as its a must have application on any PC.

To get the best use out of Process Explorer (PE), include it as one of your startup programs.

Then I sort PE to descending CPU use.
Then shrink the screen to show the top 5-6 users of CPU cycles.
Then I minimise it so it is instantly available when I need to check something out. Works very well, excellently, in fact.

thanks for all your replies, I'll have to look into that. "What's running" looks has a more detailed interface, but I was hopefully wanting to know if anyone has used it. Also has anyone used RegScrub XP and how do you like it?

No experience with "Whats Running". Heartily agree with Novice, BigBazza and Halo. I do use and like RegScrubXP. It was a great help in getting rid of all the bits and pieces of aol.

Beware: Some MG'ers recently have had bad experiences with RegScrubXP.
This program hasn't been updated for 4 years. :cry :p

    Check out MG threads.

Make sure you have a backup of all your essential stuff, and particularly a full backup of your Registry, before you use RegScrubXP, IMHO of course. :D Bazza

yea I'll just stick w/ ccleaner. it is highly rated and doesn't get into as much detail as regscrub, from what I've heard. I've also downloaded diskkeeper lite and I've noticed how the start menu loads faster on my computer now. I'd like to get the pro version but I don't think I should have to pay for it.
