Processes?

Hi there,

Getting help on the spyware forum, but had a question I didn't think appropriate to post there...

What processes should be running on your computer? Is there a list somewhere that I can compare mine too? I seem to have a tonne of them...


Also, if I go to start, explore, windows, there are apx. 15 files located in that folder...They are highlighted in blue...They look like this:

$NtUninstallKB(series of #'s)$.....(There are 6 of these)
$NtUninstallQ(series of #'s)$....(There are 19 of these)

Should I remove these or are they legit?

If you have any processes running that aren't legit the guys ove in the Spyware Specific forum will get rid of those.

As far as those blue folder in C:\Windows they contain unistall information for the installed MS Updates/Hotfixes. There is no need to delete those floders. You can if you are absolutely sure you won't need to unistall an update/hotifx.

I keep tabs on processes by going to... www.processlibrary.com ...You can find and learn just about everything there is to know about them. Very handy when you detect one you're unsure of.
