what is the fault with your pc? does it power up? do any thing? it might not be your cpu at fault.

If your processer is working on most things its more than likely allright, maybe just not powerful enough to do the gaming that you are doing. Post the specs of your pc. ed

alright i play BF2 and my processor meets the requirments for the game in everyway but i still get lag, and iam sure it is not internet lag because i played on single player (same result) and its not the videocard because ive played it on very low settings. Ive even gone to a friends house and his computer was fine but mine was tripping up. Ive already tested my 2 sticks of ram seperatly while in game and they both have the same outcome of lag. Ive got a new fan to keep my cpu cooled down to 47C and bout 57 in game. so processor is the only thing that comes to mind for me.

    Motherboard:MSI Ms-6702
    Prossesor: 64AMD 3200+(not overclocked)
    Videocard: radeon 1600 512mb
    Memory: 1gig (2 half sticks)

Go into bios [setup] Go to pc health or something similar and see if you can find your voltages, and post back, about the only thing i can think of is a failing power supply. ed

Another possibility is your video card overheating, is the fan running.?

yea the only thing i can think of (since your rig should be able to handle BF2 alright) is an overheating component, either video card or proc (47 idle is NOT that chilly lol but its not terrible but 57 is getting up there). Im not sure how much heat AMDs can handle but that seems high. My prescott, one of the hottest processors out there, if not the hottest, idles at 33-35 and maxes around 40ish but thats with water cooling. What cooler did you get?

Is it bad framerate or just overall lag? ive read that turning down the Texture setting can help with that kinda problem. Try putting it on lowest and see how it turns out. BF2 runs best on 2 gigs of RAM BTW so dont expect perfect performance with that setup
