Processor Overheat

I have an Intel moBo is an Intel D946GZIS.

It's actually working, but not propierly, i don't know if is the processor exactly or the MoBo, but the cooler sometimes run faster and noisy and sometimes normal every 3 or 4 seconds.

I wantto listen opinions, what is it, the mobo or the processor?

 

Try CPU-Z and/or Speccy - they might give you an idea of what's going on...

Btw, it only get's noisy when is running something, like i was installing Adobe CS3 and started to (noisy-not noisy-noisy-not noisy) if i don't use anything and just leave it turned on doesn't do that.

i will check soft tx again!

 

itmortiz, according to this document, that board has Hardware Monitoring and Fan Control - the fan speedups/slowdowns will be common if some software is stressing the processor...

 

I see. thanks, also when i ran some apps it get noisy but now i installed a new Fan and seems like no problems.

I expect mine to get a bit warmer when working harder than normal, like folding on the team.
My Vista machine, right now, is online and folding.
54% CPU usage and 115F.
Go offline it will drop to 109F.
Quit folding and it would drop to around 95F.
