Processor Problem

My motherbaord and ram was damged.Today I buy a motherboard intel d945gnt and 512 mb ddr2 like it was before.Problem is that board and ram was working fine in the shop.But when i brought this to home and put my own processor it is not giving display and beep.(processor: Intel Pentium D 2.6 ghz). When i push power on button key board lights blinks but no display. Is it processor fault or what and if it is can i solve it myself it?

When you installed the processor did you apply 'Thermal Paste' which goes between the processor and your heatsink fan. The best to use is 'Artic Silver'

 

Yup to Tokes question plus did you plug the heat sink fan in? I know it's basic but has to be asked.

 

Ya ia have put heatsink on it.and didnt use paste lol i am noob i have it alread

When you assembled the board did you plug in a 4 pin connector to the molyneux connection. On your mobo it is situated above the processor by the external connectors. The connector you need has Black and Yellow wires (No red). If this is not connected your board will not be getting sufficient power to boot up.
