I needed to reinstall Mcafee. I Uninstalled it and reinstalled it from the CD that came with the laptop. After installing I got the Product Setup Box that stated I had a missing or invalid Dell Service Tag. Customer Service informed me to sign out of McAfee.com and sign back in and run a manual update of all owned products. I did this and the Dell Setup Keeps coming up after every boot and connection to the internet. I was told to find MCDELTAG.EXE and click it (Iwas told It would seem to do nothing), but there were several MCDELTAG.EXE and plain MCDELTAG enteries on the hard drive. Everyone of the MCDELTAG.EXE entries I tried to click on poped up a box that said it couldn't find the program I was trying to open it with and to either browse for one (yeah right) or use the web to find it (yeah right again). I ran the MCREGWIZ.exe with the hopes it worked. No luck. THEY had me uninstall again and load just from the web. This gave me the newest version of McAfee which prevented Net Zero from working AND the Product Setup still returned. It got so bad we eventually had to do a System Restore. For some reason the System Restore not only didn't work, but caused a Generic System 32 error that corrupted System Restore. All my Mcafee Producs say they are up to date and work, but I still can't get rid of the Product Setup/Missing Dell Service Tag Issue. I reloaded System Restore from the Wndows XP CD, but the link on System Restore to the Settings and to Help ceased to function. Another Dell User gave me 3 Scripts to run that fixed the System Settings Link, but the Help Link is still dead. I need HELP resolving the last 2 remaining issues. How do I get the PRODUCT SETUP/INVAID OR MISSING DELL SERVICE TAG ERROR FIXED AND does anyone have a fix to the issue that when you load System Restore and click on the Help Link it doesn't work. I'm sure that is a script error of some kind as was the Settings Link Issue. HELP PLEASE.

Yes I have that link. It does no good at all. Customer Service send you to support who sends you back to customer service. I just need to find a way to get the McAfee Registry Wizard to identify my Service Tag or stop it from loading completely.

Yes, it should. Or, you can use this one, http://dougknox.com/xp/scripts/fixwinxphelp.vbs

Are the steps below the ones you followed? Sounds like them. I would try again, just to see if it might work.

When I click on McDeltag.exe it asks me what program I want to run it withwith a windows popup (similar to if you try to run a video file that you have never associated with windows media or Real Player when you click on it it asks you to find the program you want to run it with). I have no clue what program to run mcdeltag with. Should I run it with mcregwiz ????
