program for defragging win98 win2000

    tried installing O&O defrag on my friends computer but it wouldnt install because it was missing some software or file...something along those lines...
    so what's a good defrag program for a win98/2000 based system...thanks :)

    Specifically what file is missing? O&O Defrag is a great program.

    wish i remembered, i just clicked cancel on the install...and left it.
    something that started with "Microsoft...etc.etc..." lol
    not much help, but we'll try again, anyone know what's needed?

    O&O is great for NT basied PCs but nada worky properly on 9x's, is that PC a dual boot jak3y? ( only ask as its weird it wont install on a w2k OS but as the guys said the missing file may help, gut feeling says its a file thats not present in win98 )

    For a win98 PC I would go with Diskeeper Lite ( also works with all win OS )

    is the message i get...so is it as easy as downloading MMC? and that's it?
    Would older OS's handle MMC or is it strictly for newer version OS's?

    w2k and XP have MMC but win98 or any other 9x wont.

    well i knew that lol...im wondering whether or not it's possible to install MMC on a win98...if not...what's a good defrag for win98 based OS's. ;)
    you install those firefox extensions?
