program missing in safe mode

I want to run a program in safe mode but it is missing when I go to sate mode.
The removeit pro antivirus is not there. Several other programs are missing too. I downloaded from major geeks. How can I run the program in safe mode?

Why does safe mode leave out so many programs?

 

Do you have more than one user I.D. on the machine? The software may not have been installed "for all users", and won't show up except under the User it was installed under.

 

I'm the only person on the computer. Safe mode asked 1. administrator or 2 user. I used the administrator box.

 

Try User. It may have the programs loaded there. I assume User has admin level privileges.

 

You're right. When I click user box it works. I just assumed administrator box was to be clicked. For this user is better than administrator. Thanks.

You are correct in observing that many programs do not work (are suppressed or not called) in safe mode. In particular most antivirus programs do not run in safe mode.

This restriction does not only apply to programs it also applies to all but the most basic drivers, in particular video (ggraphics) drivers which often cause problems are not used.

Programs associated with networking will not work unless you choose 'safe mode with networking'.

This is for the very good reason that safe mode is for emergencies and system repair work.
