Hi everyone, and please forgive my first post being a question.

Two days ago my computer was suddenly overtaken by a fake antivirus software. The program popped up, kept reporting false Trojans, and prevented me from accessing many options, including my Task Manager. I started my computer in Safe Mode, ran AVG and Malware Bytes, and excised the bastard. I haven't had any trouble with it since.

However, ever since, I've been having networking problems with many of my programs and websites.

When I try to start Yahoo IM, it attempts to sign in for about two seconds and returns to its login screen without any error message at all.

When I try to upload an image to Photobucket, I receive the message, "Image upload failed. Upload failed for (image name) with error: A network error caused your upload to fail. Please try your upload again."

And when I try to update my podcasts in iTunes, they start for a brief second and fail with either Error 3259 or Error 39. All the podcasts receive that little exclamation mark to the left, with the message, "There was a problem downloading (name) podcast. The network connection timed out."

I've run my antivirus suite and my spyware detectors again and have come up clean. I've also tried resetting my connection and my wireless router. I've reached the limit of my admittedly scanty abilities, and I'm hoping someone here might be able to steer me in the right direction for a solution.

    Thanks in advance!

Well, I followed directions up to the Flash part. Uninstalled Flash, tried to install the new one and instead discovered something else my computer will no longer do.

The error message for this one reads: "The Installer cannot continue with the current Internet Connection settings."

So now I don't have Flash, either.

Help would be appreciated. I don't want to risk digging an even deeper hole.

Can you use another computer to download Flash to a thumbdrive then install from that?
Also, what Operating System are you using?

It looks like Combo Fix has solved the problem and allowed me to manually repair everything else (such as the deleted Flash program).

    Thanks for the help!
