    Hi,

In my All Programs, Acrobat Reader 5.0 shows. However, in Add and Remove Programs, only Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X shows, not Acrobat Reader 5.0. Also, Revo Uninstaller shows only Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X, not Acrobat Reader 5.0. So, do I have Acrobat Reader 5.0 as an active program on my computer, or is its showing up in All Programs an error?

Thank you for any help you can give me.

can you right click on the icon, select properties, and under the shortcut, click find target.

Thank you very much for your response, thesmokingun. I right clicked on the Acrobat Reader 5 icon and was taken to the program setup wwizard. I followed the wizard's instructions and the program was installed. Now Acrobat 5.0 appears in both Add and Remove Programs and in the Revo Uninstall All Programs list.

    Again, thank you very much.:)

I hope you are planning to uninstall version 5. This was offered in 2001, almost 9 years ago and probably has security vulnerabilities.

You can still use Adobe Flash 10 and Adobe Shockwave but replace Adobe Reader with the latest version or if you do not want all the bloat, download a smaller pdf reader like Foxit or Sumatra.

Note: I run Foxit on all my windows computers.

    After just getting it installed.
    What a shame.:-D:wave:cry
Foxit Reader is my choice for a PDF reader.

Again a vote for foxit reader, just make sure to uncheck the toolbar it offers to install; unless you want it. It's the Ask toolbar I believe.

    Opps a little late.

    Thanks for your response, Buck_nekid.

Foxit is a very good program without the heavy overhead. I like it.

I am going to use the toolbar and Ask.com. I will compare Ask.com's results in searches with Bing and Google and Yahoo. :)

    Have a very good one...

NOTE: a pdf exploit was discovered and FF will issue an update tomorrow. Both Adobe Reader and Foxit are scheduled to also have updates/patches April 13th so make a note to patch, patch, patch!
