Program that creates install log?

Does anyone know of a program that will create a simple, viewable log of all the files and registry changes created during the installation of any given software? I know that uninstall programs keep track of these changes, but I would like to actually see what files are created when installing a program. Also, I did try the msiexec.exe log function, but it only works for some installations and the log files are ridiculously complex.

Try these free tools - ZSoft Uninstaller and Revo Uninstaller.

 

I tried both ZSoft and Revo Uninstaller, as well as the trial of Your Uninstaller and Total Uninstaller. While they're all nice uninstall apps, none of them give me what I'm looking for - a way to view all the files a program installs on the computer. Total Uninstall come close, but it doesn't show every file installed, especially ones outside the "c:\program files" directory.

What would be ideal is a program that monitors an installer while it's installing, and then creates a viewable log of all file/registry changes for later reference.

Any ideas?

markj, you're right! Somehow I missed the "analyse installation" option.

The only problem is that it has to make an image of the entire c: drive before and after installation, which can be time consuming. The whole process took about 10 mins. on my comp. Other than that, it's just what I was looking for. Thanks.
