Program to transfer cam corder to computer

Hi, would like too know were I can find movie maker 2. I presume that this is a program that you can record directly from cam corder to computer. I have searched but seem only able too find creativity packs. I would like a free program (preferably) to transfer camcorder too computer. The camcorder is digital and usb. Came with pixela image maker but its not very good, very broken ect..Really just looking for a program to transfer from cam corder to computer for storage. thanks for taken the time too read.

 

Windows Movie Maker 2 is included with Windows XP (with a major update coming from Windows Update). As far as I know, that's the only way you can get the software. Does your video card have a video input jack to capture the video as it plays on your camcorder?

 

Hi I have searched my windows xp disc and cannot find it. I live in Australia if that makes any difference. Or is it already installed on the computer and I have to activate it? My video card has a jack, but I thought you could do it threw usb port. All help appreciated.

No, it's not.

Movie Maker 1 is included with XP, which is nowhere near as good as 2.

Movie Maker 2.1 is included with SP2, or it can be downloaded via Windows Update.
