Program too big to fit in memory

I have XP PRO SP2beta with plenty of HD drive space and almost a gig of memory. long ago I installed SP1 no problem, then SP2 beta with no problems.
I downloaded windowsxp-kb835935-sp2-enu.exe to update my PC but it will not do regarless of what I do. I tried closing all apps... not go, i tried using Mem turbo 3 to get a bit more memory... not go, I tried in safe mode... not go
I keep getting this error:

Program too big to fit in memory

This is driving me crazy!!!

I know viruses can caused troubles like this, so I run symantec 9.01 with new update, tried the free Pandora virus check through the internet... clean
I also use adware and search an destroy to keep my PC clean... So at this point I am out of ideas!!!

Please help!!!

 

What beta build are you running?

 

Maybe a broken download ?

 

sp2 beta v.2096

also, nope is is not a broken download because I have the complete dowload file in my hard drive:

windowsxp-kb835935-sp2-enu.exe 266MB file

 

Sp2 RTM will only upgrade over RC2, or one of the interim builds since then, AFAIK.

Do you have an uninstaller for the beta Sp2?

 

I already tried that... it got corrupted. besides the start from scrach option... is there another alternative? I have tons of software on this thing that can take long hours to confiigure all again!!!!

There is always a way to do things.... something that can be changed in the registry perhaps????

 

Well, I'm not aware of one, besides a repair, or clean install.

You could always try to uninstall it from the batch file.
