Programming?

I come from the technician side and know nothing about programming. I currently use an RMM to remotely maintain client computers. It runs scripts on their machines to automate tasks such as cleaning logs and temp files. The trouble is, some scripts are not already there.

Does anyone do this sort of thing? I'm looking to find out what type of programming would be better to learn to write scripts like this? My options are JavaScript or Batch? Thoughts?

Given the recent news (the death of CMD, not really) powershell is the future of scripting on Windows specifically.
You might look at AutoIt & Kixtart.

I've been looking at AutoIT. Does it allow me to save as a CMD or BAT file?

Any good video based tutorials on how to do batch scripting?

Thanks for this. I thought Command Line, Batch, and Powershell we all the same thing so I am glad you said this. I will research powershell as well.

I need to be able to write the script and install it into my RMM so I am not sure if I can do it from AutoIT without editing.
