Programs not responding at all !!!

HELP!!!
I think i accidently deleted something in my laptop.
NONE of my programs works. Everytime i click a program the window "open with." would appear. I tried to reboot my laptop with a XP cd.When i restard it and run my Xp cd. it loads my hardwares but then a bluescreen appears and it says i have a problem with my harddrive. Somehow, i know i can fixe this by readding what i deleted or something. Please help me, thanks.

 

If you're getting a blue screen error during Windows setup then you have something else wrong besides just a deleted file. If you post the exact error message and code number(s), we can help you out alot better. The error code will look something like this STOP 0X0C00000FF. You said the error message is about the hard drive; so go to the hard drive maker's web site, download and run their diagnostic tool. It'll be free, and you'll create a bootable disk (CD or floppy). You can also try booting to your XP CD, enter the Recovery Console, and run chkdsk /r to check the drive and (hopefully) fix any errors... good luck, and let us know how it goes
