Hey guys, I was just hoping that someone would be cool enough to throw some advise my way. Starting around two weeks ago certain programs on my laptop stopped working, so far the main offenders are my image editing program, Photo Impact, and most importantly (and damaging) is Microsoft Word. Impact won't initiate at all while Word will open files but as soon as I attempt to modify them in anyway it just crashes. My comp has other odd things it's been doing as well; for instance, I attempted to system restore from when I last purged my PC of malware and with every attempt I was told that the system could not restore to this date (regardless of what date I chose). My recycling bin has also emptied its self on more than one occasion. I'm guessing that some form of malware is the culprit here, so I attached the log files.

    Thankssss in advance!!!!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Nothing that you posted actually sounds like malware problems and the logs you posted are in agreement since they are clean. You problems could possibly be due to the fact that you are WAY TOO LOW on system memory to properly run Windows XP SP3 and anything along with. Your logs show
    Code:
    Total Physical Memory 512.00 MB
    Available Physical Memory 66.50 MB
At an absolute minimum, you need to double your memory but quadrupling to 2 GB is highly recommended.

Damn... That's what I was afraid of. The problem is that I'm on a seven year old laptop with its memory maxed out. Short of getting a new pc, do you have or know of any suggestions - like maybe downgrading my service packs? Anyway, thanks for your time!

No! You only have half of the max. I just looked up your specs and it states that your PC can have upto 1 GB.

You can also stop loading things that you don't need at startup but it is still going to be a problem since you still need to add protection which you do not currently have installed.
