I am having problems with some programs and cannot locate what is causing it.
When windows 7 open up a popup window come on the desktop that says, "Host application has stopped working. Window is looking for a solution. My Neat program will not open at all. In aol when I try to go to youtube or some other site it loads and then a screen pops up that says, "Whoops we're sorry something happened while trying to load your tabs." Firefox runs with a lot of problems one in particular when I try to go to youtube, "Adobe Flash Plugin has crashed. Reload page try again. I contacted neat so I can work with it and my files and they say it is McAfee. McAfee says it is not them. No response from aol as I am not on their paid version. I haven't heard anything from Firefox. Do You have any idea as to what I can do???? Please advise. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Post a link for "My Neat Program" because I'll bet 99% of people reading have no idea what it is.

Easiest way to check if McAfee is causing the problem is to turn McAfee off and see how the computer reacts.

    Hi Wadda

Is Windows 7 fully up to date with current service pack?

Quick thing to try is boot to safe mode (F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with Networking) and see if you have the same issues?

If you do or do not let us know and we can progress from there.

Apparently, it is not McAfee. I did disconnect and still had the problem. I am waiing to see if Firefox responds to my request for assistance. It is unstable and causes my computer to be unstable however, if I understand correctly Firefox is suppose to be more efficient and stable than Internet Explorer. But I don't know that much about it.

Go to the internet page where "My Neat" can be downloaded from, then copy and paste the internet address from your web browser's address bar into an edit box for this forum. So it would look something like this.

Hey guys, here's the link to My Neat program:

    http://www.myneat.com/my_neat_program.html

If you can't find the website for the program, then supply the full official name of the program along with the author/creator/company that makes it.

Right click the Computer icon on your desktop and select Properties.
What does it say under Windows edition?

If you do not have a Computer icon on your desktop, click on the orb (start button in XP) and in the right pane you will see the word Computer about 1/2 way down. Right click on it and select Properties. What does it say under Windows edition?

At this rate we'll be well into the new year before we get enough info to work with. Do this wadda, click on the link below which will take you to a page where you can download a program that you can run to automatically create a text file with all sorts of useful information.

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/tweaking_com_system_information.html

Download the program and save it to your desktop. On your desktop you will find a file named: "Tweaking.com-System_Information.exe"

Double click on it and it will extract files to a new folder on your destop and the program will automatically start up and show you a screen that looks like this (click on thumbnail below)

Check the same boxes and radio buttons as shown in the picture then click the START button.
The program will open an Explorer window and asked you where to save the text file.
Browse to the desktop and save the file there.
The program will run for a few seconds and then ask you whether you want to view the text file - Choose YES
The text file will open and you can see all of the data that the program collected. Near the top it will show a SERIAL number. Delete that line, then save the text file.
Now click on the link below to go to a page that instructs you on how to attach files to your posts - Read the article and do as it asks.

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86880

Now return to this thread, click the POST REPLY button to create a message and attach to it the file called "System_Information_By_Tweaking.com.txt" that you saved to your desktop earlier.
Post the message with it's attached text file.

Now everybody who reads this thread will be able to open that text file and see all the information about your computer and programs to help them decide what advice to give you.

wadda, your post didn't have the attached text file that I asked for.
Did you run into a problem with creating the file or attaching it to your post?

I have no explanation but I now have Neat program back after at least a month and a half without being able to get into it. I don't know what I have done different but it is up and running. For how long I don't know. But I want to thank everyone for offerring suggestions to help me. It certainly helped me personally. Thank you for helping a senior citizen.
