Programs resetting ot default

I am posting this in hardware because I am starting to think that this is the problem.

My system - New Windows XP sp2 totally updated running on a clean new reformatted 250Gb drive (Jan 2008)

Programs loaded: AVG, AVG Spyware, AVG rootkit, Spybot SAD, Registry booster, MS Office, CCleaner, Bluetooth Toshiba, Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, Photoshop.

Symptoms:

IE resetting itself to default page, trying to find new page and then jumping back to default
Win Explorer jumping back to default (My Documents or any other folder that was selected when the problem started)
MS Word failing
Other programs jumping to the default setting.

I have tried all of the antivirus and malware solutions. The bods at MG and AVG say that I am Malware and Virus free.

The problems start soon after boot but could appear up to 20 mins after boot (or immediately)

Could this be a MOBO problem and if so how can I check it out?

 

Well I never got a reply - but just to let you know it was the keyboard malfunctioning
