Projections onto buildings

Anyone into military have seen some of the experimental camo techniques being tried by projecting a background onto what is wanting to be disguised. The M/S homepage had an interesting link that is a new twist on this.

It would be worth seeing for real I think, but I also suspect it is very angle of view dependent.

 

Looks interesting from a public entertainment point of view, I just don't see how there is a military application for this. If you disguised a building as part of the hill 1 mile away, when the enemy fire a missile at the hill I thin they will be a little annoyed when it explodes on a building right in front of them.

 

It is the same application. If you see images behind something like a tank or tent, it makes it hard to see. It's been shown on several Discovery episodes, along with some military channels. Pure research at this point, but surprisingly effective.
