I noticed this program on my Add/Remove list and dont know what it is?

I went to remove it, and told me that something would need to happen on my computer in order to do this, and my computer restarted and now all the monitor icons are big! I told it to cancel the removal, as I dont know whether Im supposed to remove this program or not?

Is it supposed to be on my computer? What does it do, and why did initially asking to remove it, even though I then cancelled this after the reboot, make every go big??

Apparently you have a system that has an Nvidia chipset, with integrated video!?!?

    No??

If so...then you have removed the graphics controller, and it needs to be reinstalled!! Do you have the disc that came with the system, or are we going to have to hunt this down on the WWW??

Before we get ahead of ourselves here, though...can you post the specific specs of your system. If it is a store bought system, we need the make and model #, and if it is a home built system, we need the make and model # of the motherboard. Also, what version of windows are you using??

If you don't install the proper video drivers, then you will not be able to use the integrated video to it's fullest extent!!

If the graphics driver is not installed in the system, then windows will use a basic/generic VGA driver, and as I stated above...you will not have the full capabilities of your graphics.

So if you have not removed it yet...then don't...if you have already removed it, then you need to reinstall it!!

Please bear with me, as Im still a bit confused, and thank you for coping with me so far.

so are you saying, that all i need to do is insert that graphics disk and install it - nothing else?

Also, what is the 'integrated video' - do you mean windows media player or something?

    thanks:confused:

Can you give me the specs of your system, and I will do some investigating and will come back with some instructions on how to point you in the right direction!!

Oh...I forgot...Integrated video is when the when the monitor connection (the blue connector on the back of the PC) on the back panel of the PC is built into the motherboard (the blue video connector for you monitor will be turned verticle and will be located up among the USB, keyboard, mouse and serial connectors are located).

If it is not integrated video then that means there is an add in PCI card that is the video controller, and it will be down towards the bottom in one of the spare slots (the blue monitor connectore will be horizontal).

Hope I didn't confuse you...I tried to put it in as laymen terms as I could!!

Aaaaahh...perhaps...I believe you are correct, Matt!! Thanks for the heads up...I did not see her other thread, as I have been away for a bit!!

If she did a system restore then that indeed should have fixed the video problem that we were discussing here!!

I did a system restore and that fixed the scrolling problem.

Im assuming that i still have to reinstal the stuff on the CD I have. FYI the CD is called: OCTEK Mainboard Driver CD and it comes with other free software.

should I reinstall windows and this when asked? Im really confused. Especialy because when i put this cd in, nothing happens and i have to go in and prompt it and tell it what to install, and Im not sure..
