prosessor question????????

hey guys this might be a stupid question but ive wonderd something.......... i have a dell 4400,intell celleron processor 2.8ghz,2gigs of ram,niva 5600fx graphics card with 256 on board ram, now ive also got a amd athlon 64x2 dual core processor 4200+(i think 2.2ghz).now first question is can i swap out the processors?????and use the amd????and the other question is witch one is better??? thanks for your time.:confused

You can't switch processors from intel to amd.
Motherboards are designed to accept only certain types of processors.
They may except a wide range of intel or amd processors but not both types at the same time.

 

As to the second question, the dual is immensely better than the Intel, especially if you do CPU intense stuff like transcoding video etc. On my old single core doing video would just choke the system up to the point that it was basically useless for anything else.

I was lucky as my board was able to run a dual core with a BIOS upgrade. The difference was quite dramatic as the video was crunching away in the background. It was as if the transcode wasn`t even happening! Excellent for heavier users.
