I have a fresh system that was previously riddled with spyware and virus infection on the pc. What collection of programs will provide me with the most all-inclusive protection when i will be exposed to file sharing programs?

There are lot's of good ones free & otherwise, everyone has preferances & opinions,
Here's mine, all avaible free at MG:
    Ad-Aware S.E. personal
    Avast
    Spyware Blaster
    Spybot Search & Destroy

Firewall XP SP2 built in is fine
    or
Sygate personal (Only run one firewall)

I have several pc's home networked all behind hardware firewall, (Router set in stealth mode)
I have other utilities running on some of the PC's, but the ones I listed I Like the best, all run fine together.

You mentioned file sharing programs, if your using P2P sharing over the internet your always at risk, gotta be careful what you download or emails ya open.

i recommend the exact same thing, with an addendum: avg works very well also, so give that a shot. and be sure to update spywareblaster on a regular basis (like once a week); it won't autoupdate unless you pay or something like that.
