I need help in the proxy setting for download managers, specifically Flashget.

I recently use a software to connect to a proxy, and it gave me a SOCKS4/5 port number and a web proxy port number.

How do I insert the settings into Flashget so that I can download a file from, say. megaupload?

I'm sure most of you guys here are aware of Flashget, right? I don't have much knowledge in networking, and are currently in download hell, figuring out how to use it to download files using a proxy server.:banghead

    Help, anyone? Please?

    Welcome to Major Geeks :major

    In Flashget

    Tools - Options - Proxy - Add

    Select 'Type'

and enter details in 'server' and 'port'

    good luck :)

This may also be of some use http://www.flashget.com/en/faq002.htm

    Oh, sorry, forgot the niceties.

Yeah, thanks, glad to be here, it's one awesome site.

And about adding proxy setting, which option do I use? There's HTTP <Get>, HTTP <Connect>, FTP (dunno how many), Socks 4, Socks 5....

The option is kinda confusing for me who is a complete newbie to this kind of thing.

Which one do I use, and when I download a file, there's the option to use which connection for Http, Ftp, and Rtsp/MMS. Which one should I use for which setting?
