Ps2 FPS

Here is my problem, my ps2 seems to go at faster FPS than it should go. This problem occured when i opened it up to clean it( I had already cleaned it like 4 times before and everything was alright) this time when i put it back together everthing was right but i noticed it was going faster. I placed a game (GT3) and it started right and everyting but the FPS were fast. Then i tried other games and still it was the same. I belive the normal FPS should be 60. I don't know what i did, i don't wanna open it and mess with it. So any of you guys have also had this problem, how do you fix it. I don't want to call Sony, cause it's not that big of a problem probably its only something that needs adjusting or something and if i send it to Sony it won't be cheap.
I would be pleased if someone would help me.

 

I dont get if it is possible to get a too high fps, the more the better right?, or you mean lag :S

 

no, i mean it plays faster than it should. For example like in GTA3 when you get those stars and you move faster its like that. Everything in every game is faster than it should be.

 

ok, what exactly did u clean?
and if ur fps increases, the game speed doesnt, there is another problem.

 

i just cleaned where there was dirt and the disk drive to clean the lens. if you can't help me that's ok, today i went to a place where they specialize in electronics and the guy there told me he might be able to fix it. I asked him how sure he was and he told me he had fixed other ps2's. I might probably take it there if not i'll call sony. Thanx anyways

i really don't know if it is legal, they fix PC's there too so they must know what they are doing. I still have not decided if to take it there or to send it sony.
