PS2 recommendation

I'm not a gamer but my bro is with his PS2. I'm looking to get him something for Christmas, but have no idea what's in. It has to be purchasable in the UK and be a very recent release, so I can be certain he hasn't already got it.

He likes the 2-player games where you blow things up, rather than the sci-fi stuff and mental head games.

Any suggestions, gamer geeks?

 

If he doesnt already have it, BLACK is a great game. (came out late spring?) Looks awesome for the PS2 and is a totally awesome FPS. Ive played it through a few times and it still hasnt gotten old Only 1 player tho, but still good.

As for co-op games, Socom: Combined Assault just came out which introduces co-op to Socom games, i think its a great idea and should be fun if hes a fan of tactical shooters.

 

It has to be non-solo, and I think the US Navy Seals one won't be available in the UK as yet, though I could be wrong. You would think the PS2 games would be usable in UK and US PS2 machines, but they are NOT compatible, we have found through trial and error.

maybe try Battlefield 2: Modern Combat? its online like the PC battlefields though no split screen. I forgot about region locked consoles...bummer
