Ps3

I'm camping out for a PS3 to put on Ebay. I hope to get enough to pay for my next semester of college. Without it, I might not make it through. Does anyone remember what happened with the 360 launch? Did prices go up after launch because of no availability? I don't know if I should list it immediately when I get home, or wait for Christmas to get closer. One of my friends remembers 360's going for a few thousand right after launch. Would you wait, or list on launch day?

 

My roommate (for the experience) and a friend are leaving for EB at 8:00 tonight until the store opens the next morning. As long as they're within the first three people to get there he'll get one.
I'm sure at least a couple people will try to sell it for quite a lot, and probably not sell fast, if at all.

 

They're going to sell for a lot more than retail on eBay no doubt. If I could wait in line today I would.

 

i checked ebay recently just to check out PS3 prices and they are all going for over $1000

crazy....

 

Check again bro the last 5 bids I saw that had less then 24hours to ago were up to $5000

 

24 hours in below freezing temperatures with 45mph winds and I was 12th in line for the last 20GB system. There were people there since early Wednesday! Everyone except for one 13yo kid was selling their consoles on Ebay. I have mine up right now and hopefully it will sell high enough to send me to college next semester. If it doesn't sell, I'll wait till the week before Christmas to get the "Oh S*it he wanted that?" crowd. ;-)

 

My smart@$$ brother in law woke me up at 7am this morning to tell me he got a PS3. This idiot came to my house, knocked on my door until I got up. I could have killed him!

This is the same guy I went and bought a pool table so I could beat him on it because he is so competitive. LOL!

Edit: These things are going for thousands on ebay, that's insane!!!!

 

Insane is probably not the word for it, and I can't think of one right now.

I hope you at least gave your brother-in-law a piece of your mind for waking you up this morning. I know I would have said, "And this couldn't wait until later when NORMAL people are awake?"

 

You best believe I did, he now knows how I honestly feel about him.

 

Damn I would be my brother in law 24/7 if he had a ps3.

 

I'm disheartened at people whose only purpose for acquiring a console is to resell it. I'd wish for Ebay to crack down on them and put a stop to it. Ah well.

I agree with this because it's crazy what people will do just to get a console to resell somewhere. For example, the link on the homepage to the ebay auction of the # 8th guy in line, that's just wrong and law. I think that many stores like BestBuy lose a lot of money from people buying them for $600 and reselling them for thousands, if BestBuy and others upped their price it would help.

 

Since prices go soooooooo up why should someone buy from e-bay instead of a good, old fashioned, "hand-to-hand" shop?

 

some people just gotta have a ps3 lol and apparently they aren't too fond of waiting for one. Its really ridiculous tho, one of them went for 10k!!!! it was on the MG homepage 2 days ago i think. Thats just plain craziness but i guess if you're rich enough to afford wasting your money like that then by all means, go for it; im sure the guy selling it would be quite happy lol.

 

I know what you mean Major. Sony is entirely at fault for not putting out enough, and having people waiting at night is just stupid. But I also blame the people out there.

I don't think legislation would be much use, but Ebay shouldn't allow any pre-order auctions, nor these idiots that put up "Get a free (system of choice)." And try to get you to pay for the information. Those should be banned straight out.

 

I think its funny how many people are pissed at the folks who have the ps3's and are selling them for such a high price. If you have something and someone is willing to pay a certain dollar amount.. great! More power to ya.

 

It's not that I object to them making the profit, but I object to swarming in front of the actual gamers, then twisting the knife after they've gotten it already.

Being a Nintendo fan, I'm comfortable enough to let anyone silly enough to buy one on Ebay get exactly what they deserve.

 

Ill just wait until the prices go down to get one...i can wait, ive done find without a ps3 and a wii what another few months?
