What the hell is wrong with PSN??? I have my PS3 hooked via ethernet to my PC and using internet connection sharing for PS3 internet. I kept getting a message saying PSN is currenttly under goingg maintence, for almost a week I thought something was wrong with my sharing thingy. I read recent news on their site and they SAId it would be coming up regionally with in the next month!!!! I bet this will hurt their sales. Anyone else wanna vent?

lol Yeah dude, how did you not hear about this?

Unfortunately some people are jumping on the law suit bandwagon, I've seen numbers with nine zero's in them. These people are idiots, massive suits will cause Sony to possibly start charging for previously free stuff.
IMO the only thing Sony did wrong was wait to notify people of the hack, people moaning about poor security are also idiots. You can have the best security in the world but there's always someone who will be able to breach it, just like car security, the best system ever made is still not good enough to stop a good car thief.

And before anyone pipes up about anything, I have info on PSN that may have been stolen, I don't hold Sony responsible because I know they did everything they could to prevent it.

Actually, they didn't. They didn't think it would be necessary t pay for a top-notch firewall, or to update the one they did get... they were sloppy, more than I think we would have tolerated any online business to be. And the way they handled it is a long string of textbook bad PR decisions.

Do I hold them responsible? No. Will I forgive them if they don't learn from this mistake? *** no. Do I expect them to learn from it? Base on their past... no.

    Fair enough, didn't know that.
I still have faith in Sony, based on my service from them always being excellent going back before PSN as well.

Having said that I haven't had a working ps3 now for a while, I'm sure you remember the death of my old one lol

But I'll still get another one....... some day :-D

The playstions will work for BLue-rays, and playing any games, you just cna't get on playstation network for anything. It has been almost 3 weeks!! I will say one thing though, I've definetly been going to bed earlier w/o PSN. LOL :cool
I'm just really suprised that they've not been able to fix it yet. From the reports I've read, they are re-building the entire network. This could take some time, I don't get on it very much due to internet speed at my locatioin, I can't get high speed internet. But At&T u-verse has just become avaliable in my area so we'll be getting that soon enough. Hope it's up by then.

Word on the interwebs is that Sony is refusing to put the network back online until they have better security. Given that they've just done their absolute best to severely antagonize the hackers who attacked them in the first place (and all their friends), that's probably a good idea...
