I'm having an odd thing happening when my computer starts. After Windows loads and my screen with my icons comes on, the my screen goes black for a split second then comes back on and stays on. It seems like the computer's shutting off for a split second then coming back on. None of my other computers have done this before. Any ideas? A setting in Bios?

By the way now that I'm done installing hardware, how should my boot sequence be set. Now it's 1. Floppy, 2. CD, 3. HD.

    Thanks,

    IMSA

the monitor shuts off for a second?

most likely your video card drivers. try reinstalling with the latest from either ATi or Nvidia depending on what you have.

also, go to Start>Run> and type in eventvwr

look under system for any warnings or errors, these might give you hints as to whats going on. still, first though is video card drivers...

    Thanks InYearsToCome

Reinstalling my video drivers cleared up my problem.
