I have bought a new motherboard...The powersupply works until I connect the P4 power connector (4 pin power connector next to CPU) then it the PSU dies. What could be the possible cause of this?

    Any help Appreciated...Thanks in advance.

As you have just fitted the motherboard, I would check that the motherboard standoffs are not shorting out the motherboard, as it sounds very much like a short is there somewhere.
Otherwise I would check any leads that you have connected to the motherboard, in case you have inadvertably connected a header wrongly. In fact disconnect any header not required to start the psu.
