I want to use an older PSU I found for my speaker setup, to replace the old PSU I used to have connected. However, I can't seem to get it to turn on.

I connected the green wire to the black wire, but to no avail. It turns on just for a millisecond and then turns back off again. The PSU fan doesn't turn on. I got the PSU out of an old Compaq computer (it's a 20-pin, not a 24-pin).

    Please help!

I think yo have to put some load on the PSU, atleast a fan or hard drive etc.

Yeah I tried to connect a cd drive and a hard drive, and also the car amp im planning on using with it, but it still only provided power for about a millisecond.
