PSU/video card

i just bought a new psu and according to Sony tech support its not reccomended to replace it as it could cause hardware "malfunction." Is this true? Or are they just overreacting/BSing me so they dont have to deal with the warranty conflictions. My warranty is over anyways so it doesnt matter, im just wondering if i could somehow use this. If not, does anyone know of a video card that can run on 266 watts? I have no extra wires to plug into a card either...

 

What size power supply did you buy?

Is it for the system setup in your sig.?

430 watt psu, and yes its for my sig pc. maybe its just me but it looks like my mobo is smaller than most....not sure but ill take some measurements and post them. if someone could plz do the same so i could compare them? thanks

 

Most OEM motherboards are mini-ATX form factor, and majority will not fit into another case. Personally, it would be cheaper and easier to build a system from the ground up, then trying to force a OEM into a non-OEM case.

 

hmmm well i guess im gonna have to try to fit it cause i ordered a case yesterday lol (raidmax x1). I would upgrade the mobo but the proc is socket 478 and there are not really any mobos with pci-e slots for that socket. If you know of one, plz tell me

ok i checked the raidmax website and it says it will fit standard atx (like 12x9 or sumthin) and smaller. Somehow, someway.....ill get it to fit lol

 

got the case, everything fit just fine. awesome case, definitely reccomend it.
