Public VPN

    I tried several free VPNs but few were any good.

    I struggled with one and finally got it to work but my computer is being assigned a 10.xx.xxx.xx IP to me as the "local IP", so not sure it's configured correctly, although I am getting the vpn's ip on web checks and the sniffer program I ran shows only the VPN IP for target data transfers.

    Should not the local IP be something more like 192.xx.xxx.xx?
    What if anything am I doing wrong? Again browser checks show the VPN IP and everything looks encrypted on the sniffer.

    I realize I am new here, but any helpful replies appreciated.
