Pulling Embedded Videos From Internet

I'm going on vacation in a few days (yeah, I'm little late right ) and I'm trying to pull several videos from the internet to take with me.

Most of these videos are embedded into the websites and not YouTube based. Usually I can use a program like Orbit Downloader to detect the .SWF files that's playing on the page and extract them. Recently however I can't seem to extract these videos and save them to my hard drive. When I go to the folder, it's just 2-40kb files and most are just ads.

Anyone know an all purpose app that can pull this kind of content from the web reliably? Also, if it saves it in another format (such as MP4 instead of flash based) that would be something I'm even willing to pay for.

 

You could download the videos with a nice Add-on called "Karbon".

That Add-on works with Mozilla Firefox an internet navigator.

So you have to download:

http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/

And then download the add-on and install it.

Well, i want to tell you that KArbon dl the videos in Swf (guess in mp4 too) and you need to have installed some codecs, i recommend K-lite Codec Pack.

 

I've actually been experimenting with many different Firefox add-ons but none seem to work outside YouTube.

I tried "Karbon" on this embedded video on IGN (I've been using this video for all my tests) but Karbon, as many of the other add-ons, don't recognize it.

I don't use any other tool to get web videos, but this one have a download link to get it but u have to suscribe.

So if you're looking for a tool that avoid to register and download the video directly idk one atm.

I'll check later if something appears.
