punctuation!

I have been out of school for 21 years now <grin> and now I am back ! My problem is that I have to write a report in one of my classes and I don't know jack about all the punctuation stuff that goes on. (English was not my fav subject lol). Anyway, I am looking for a program....if there is such a thing...that will help me with punctuation. I can be emailed at CANDIS65L@aol.com. Thank you in advance !

Hi There - I think you already know enough about puctuation judging by what you wrote to ask the question. I would write the report, punctuate it as you think it should be and to hell with the detractors - the main aim in communicating is to get what you want to say understood and you certainly let us understand in you post. Go for it!

I've never used it, but MS Word has a grammar checker in addition to its spell checker. Maybe it will offer some help.

As an aside, you should read "Eats, Shoots & Leaves" by Lynne Truss. It's a best-seller and a hilarious treatise on punctuation.

 

Just write it in Microsoft Word. It'll underline mis-spelled words with a red line & improper grammar/punctuation with a green line. It even offers the proper spelling & hints on the proper punctuation. By the looks of your post, you won't need it too badly.

 

Depends on your country of origin (and language version of Word installed).

Humour, humor, litre, liter, etc. OZ versus USA English.
