Purchacing An External Hard Drive For My NoteBook

Purchasing an External Hard Drive for my Dell Studio and wondered what the best External Hard Drive is with a reasonable price.....Just a home laptop I use to play around on and search the web....Any suggestions....White Wolf

The first question is what do you intend to do with it??

External drive go from 50gb to 2tb, i have a samsung 1.5tb external that i use to save everything, plus i have a partition on it for a backup of my system and have loads of spare GBs.

It cost me $100 and has been as good as gold.

 

Just for home use....Pictures and things that are important...Jus tryin to save as much space as possible....No buisness or anything....Mostly graphics and stuff....Thanks for the reply Bill....White Wolf

Saw your reply and have a question.
I use Acronis and created a bootable cd with my system on another internal hard drive.
If I want to buy another external hard drive ( in case of internal hard drive failure) and want to create a partition with my OS, how do I do it?
I want to be able to use the external drive for other info as well.
