I just purchased Malwarebytes about an hour ago. Now I am having things pop up telling me that it blocked a potentially malicious site. So what are these sites? It just tells me a string of numbers so quickly that I cant write them down. Did I screw up?

Sounds like it is doing what it is supposed to do. :)

Several hours later, it is still blocking stuff. I have only used the free version before so wasn't expecting this. I just believe in supporting the people whose software I use and they get excellent reviews from MajorGeeks!!! Thanks TimW

Kinda veering off topic but have you ever used Spybot? If not, download it here http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html install and then check for updates. Do a system check for malware/bad cookies, etc. and fix all problems. Once this is done, click on Immunize and immunize your system. Immunization will help prevent 'problem' websites/links/ads from loading. Then see if you're still having the same issues with Malwarebytes. I use both also and never get any kinds of warnings from Malwarebytes Pro.

Spybot hasn't been good in years, and he has one active scanner already, so installing spybot wont help anything, and may make it worse.

I disagree. I've used both, alongside with Norton 360, for a long time and have never had any problems.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Spybot is ineffective these days. It was long ago surpassed by tools like Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware. It has some use minor use with the Immunization feature but overall Spybot is very low on the list of preferred tools.

@Bomba, What sikvik has posted should answer your question.

I agree Spybot is pretty much useless now it takes too long too scan and when it does alot of times it don't pick up a whole lot of stuff. You can turn off the web site blocking if you want too bye clicking on the icon.I have the pro version as well never really had a web site blocking problem i use AVG for that. But it does sound like too me its working fine. And on top of the Loading time's for spy bot is so freaking slow even for a fast CPU like mine.

OMG if I used Norton I would really have problems!

Even with no browser open at all Malwarebytes is still blocking ips about every 20 seconds. With Spybot I got 3 doses of Cloud Internet Security which forced me to reinstall windows. I did use Spybot for many years but now it doesn't seem to work very well at all. I updated it twice a week on Sunday and Thursday. It was because of this forum that I decided to buy Malwarebytes especially since no one is talking about using spybot anymore. I also use Avast Pro and Advanced Care System daily.

Double-click the MB ison in the system Tray. Go to the Protection Tab. Uncheck the box "Show Balloon tip...."
That will stop the constant notifications.
