Puter turns itself on

Either I have ghosts in my house or something else is going on.
My son just came home from the Air Force and we hooked his puter up. I ran scans and everything seems fine.....yet.....every so often it will turn itself on ...kinda freaks us out. Anyone know how to fix this?

 

Go into cmos/bios setup and check the power options. Depending on your bios there may be several 'power on' options. The best thing is to disable all of them.


or you can try the PSU
it could be your power supply and it may be the time to buy a new one

 

Could be heat related. Clean the inside of the sytem, blow all the dust out with compressed air. Make sure the fans are clean and working. Also double check that the airflow isn't blocked. Check that the CPU heatsink is firmly seated and the CPU fan is working.

If you mean your computer turns itself on and plays the windows theme Check if your power button isn't loose,i.e its still springy or when you push it theres a good solid click,if you only leave your computer on stanby,set resume to keyboard or power switch.

Or you could call someone,but who ya gonna call?

 

I really need to learn how to read one of these days.

Wake up on Lan, Wake up with Modem, Wake up with Mouse or Keyboard is another reason that the computer may wake up from shutdown.
