putting stuff on IPOD touch

    Well.....the IPOD touch my kids gave me is neat but not really intuitive.
    I have some email messages saved and it would be nice to put them on the IPOD touch to read when I have time. I do not know if this is possible or not. Is it possible to save text files to the thing? Do I have to convert them to MP 3...load them on a CD and then have ITUNES read the CD. This is what it appears is required. Maybe someone has figured this out without all the steps involved in the above method.
