PW transfer

i've got a few accts (email, MG-type sites, wifi access even) for which i have NO CLUE what the PWs are. set them up eons ago, and am only still using by virture of windows "autocompleting" the forms when i log in. i was VERY careful on my old PC to have WinWash, CCleaner, etc., work around this.

with the PC dying, however, is there ANY way to xfer that info? if i cut the masked PW to a file or to a port or something and xfer it to the new PC, can i then PASTE it on the new PC? my gut says no (at best i'll get that string of asterisks), but does anyone have a better idea?

given that it's my own pc, is there a way to read what the autocomplete data IS? i.e. some registry key that matches up "ID XXX" to "PW YYY"?

email and website PWs i can mostly reset using "hints" or something, but i rly don't wanna lose that WIFI PW! not a situation where they'll give me a new one, or even reset it. basically, it's back to the PUBLIC LIBRARY without that AUTOCOMPLETE DATA.... :cry

yes, the old PC still (barely) works. having major SCREEN problems, but if i can get the signal up on an external monitor (other thread), i shud be good to go.

i am DLing that app as i type! thx. is that something you can vouch for -- or SEMI-vouch for? if i'd found that on my own, i might be suspicious of it.

boy, that will solve all my problems tho....

 

Nirsoft is a good site with lots of little useful programs. They all do one thing well. It is safe from everything I have seen. I will vouch for it.
