I've got a laptop that took out on me a few days ago, and I'm at a total loss for how to fix it. I get BSOD on boot with the usual corrupt boot sector messages, which would be easy to fix if my DVD drive didn't decide to stop working at the same time. This is the first time I've ever opened up a laptop to work on, and since all the connections for the HD and CD drives are completely different than my desktops, I can't do a simple component switch. Anyway, I decided to set up a PXE server on a desktop machine in hopes that I could boot to DOS and run a chkdsk on my C:/ drive and fix the problem that way. However, I have absolutely no idea what components I would need to accomplish this. I've got a DHCP and a TFTP server running and can get the computers to communicate files and boot using a floppy image I've downloaded that can run chkdsk commands and the like, but I can't run commands on my actual hard drive. Like I said, this whole thing is totally new to me and I apologize if I'm using any terms wrong... or if I'm misunderstanding how PXE can be used. Basically, if anyone has any words of advice or direction for me, they would be greatly appreciated.

I've got everything set up along these basic guidelines, if it's of any help. Thanks in advance. :)
