Q&a Vtask Studio

I am looking at macro programs which will allow me to set up macros. I'm looking at vTask Studio but - their website is down, the link at Major Geeks just returns a 404 error. They were selling it for $59 in the one webpage I found. So the question is - how do I get a license for the software? Anyone know? Thanks in advance.

AND NO - I am not looking for a crack or anything illegal. Just in case you were thinking it.

vTask was / is excellent, I own it but, it does appear they are gone. The good part of vtask was you could make exes of the macro. Are you looking to make an executable or just some macros to inject keystrokes and clicks? AutoHotKey (AHK) can do both, it will run in the systray and activate via hot keys, or you can make an executable. There is a GUI for making AHK scripts called Pullover's Macro Creator. Some good pay programs - JitBit Macro Recorder, Quick Macros, and FastKeys. The majority of the time I used AHK, but I have started dabbling in autopy.

 

Thanks to you both! I'm off to look at AHK et al. Really ratsy the people at vTask Studios didn't post a universal key so anyone could enjoy it or use it when they need to. I'm trying to make install scripts for everything. Tried AutoIt but couldn't get it to push a simple OK button. So - macros if possible. Again - thanks ever so much!

 

If you were trying to click OK on a window, I've had better luck using WinSpy (comes with AHK) to identify the window and make it active so you can click. Using an image match (where the macro watches the screen for a certain image, app window, whatever) is sketchy at best.
AHK does have plenty of sources to help you learn. Also I'll throw out PTFB (push the freakin button) for automation.
