I have XP pro running fine on my C: drive with Bell south Internet runs fine.

So I thought i'd try out Vista --- on a different but new HD !!

I bought the Vista Home prem on DVD and thought i'd install it on a different Hard Drive and did. It installed great as D: ""with a big BUT""

It said it has no internet connection so I can't use it in IE or get on the internet to upgrade patches or anything.

I call Bellsouth help and they say to call 866-294-3464 ----- (and buddy-- it isn't free) so i hung up.

I didn't encounter any errors on install ------- What Happened.

Did setup or you manually install the drivers for your NIC card?

    Hi

Do also give us the make and model of PC you have if OEM, like DELL, HP etc or the make and model of motherboard if self build eg, ASUS, Gigabyte etc?

May need to also install the Chipset drivers before the NIC/Ethernet drivers.

I've just built it from materials from CompUSA, Q9650 quad on Intel mobo 4gigs DDR3...etc.

    Never mind !!!

I re-downloaded the LAN vista mobo driver SW from Intel and a re-boot got it going.
