How to overclock this processor on DFI BI P45-TR2S motherboard. At least 3 ghz required, 3.2 ghz preferred. Processor stepping is g0.

There are plenty of guides available on the net, see if there's a DFI overclocking application like ASUS or eVGA have or if DFI has forums dedicated to OC'ing, best place to look for good info. One thing I can say from experience is if you have the stock Intel cooler on your Q6600 then 3GHz is about the limit heat-wise though I am conservative as I stop at 75C, heat is the main killer of CPU's.

I just got a new cooler, a Corsair Hyper 212, which I'll be installing tomorrow as my Intel cooler has decided to die slowly as I can only run my Q6600 at an underclocked 1.8GHz ATM and not at full blast either.:cry See how well your machine does at stock speed and all cores pinned by running OCCT and take it from there.

    Welcome aboard.
