I use Quicken 2005 Delux on Win XP. It seems I'm missing something. I used to be able to go to my CD where I saved it an open the file. Now I can't. I also purchased an external Omega drive, where I save my quicken to. Same thing. Can't view quicken files. Everything else saved is fine. I reinstalled Quicken to my new computer and fear the files where already screwed up when I went to retrieve the back up.

I really need help here. All my business files are here. I need to go back and few some of the old files.

    Thanks

Reading quickly at a few sites, it seems that QDF is a file extension used by quicken(but you knew that) and therefore when it tells you it is not a valid application its right..It is just part of a larger file(??)used by quicken, probably launched internally.

These are files(cd) you have used succesfully b4 or??

Yes, I have. Something is missing...I should be able to go to the saved files and be able to open them. The main file for quicken anyway. I used to have windows 2000 before I went to XP. If that makes a dif.

    Thanks

Hey, has anyone figured this out yet??????? How am I going to get the Win32 for this....I re installed the 2005 Q on this new computer, but it seemed to follow when I imported my files from my CD. So it seems I have saved them without the win32. How do I get it?????

I found one not a valid Win32 application reference on Quicken's website. It doesn't describe your issue but following step #3 might help. There are some other links furnished you might try. One is using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, I would try that also.

    Here is the link, https://quicken.custhelp.com/cgi-bi...HQ9V2luMzIgYXBwbGljYXRpb24*&p_li=&p_topview=1

Also, did you use a third-party backup program or Quicken's? Try the steps below:

    1. Copy your data from the CD-ROM to the folder where Quicken is installed on your hard drive.

    2. Right-click one of the files that was copied, and then choose Properties.

    3. In the File Properties window, clear the Read Only checkbox, and then select the Archive checkbox.

    4. Click OK.

    5. Repeat these steps for all of the files copied from the CD-ROM.

    6. Start Quicken, and then open your file from the copy on the hard drive.

    Let us know.
